I’ve been taking part in the Moth Migration Project devised and led by artist Hilary Lorenz.
Those taking part made prints of moths (at least five of each chosen species) and sent them to Hilary. It’s been great to see all the moths made in different printmaking processes, by adults and children, groups and individuals wing their way to New Mexico to become part of the eclipse (collective noun for a group of moths!) the aim is to collect 40,000 moths. You can read more about, and maybe even take part at the link above.
Mine are collagraph prints. I have neglected collagraph prints lately so it was the perfect way back for me. I tried to choose two moths that are related to the East Midlands of the UK. Here are Evergestis Pallidata on the left and Pyralis Liengialis on the right.
