Day 5 of mixed media thumbnails, start where you are.
I started in a place I often sketch and walk, Abington Park. I wondered if I would be able to find my something but as soon as I got there I found it, recognising something that I always focus on and like to look at and sketch. That was the horizontal lines of sunshine and shadow with the tree trunks cutting vertically across them. This was accentuated today by the clouds, so that the sun would come out suddenly, reveal the something and then go in and it would disappear. After I had completed the thumbnails I took out, walking back, I saw loads of even better examples! My markmaking on the collage was hurriedly made as it began to rain.

Today’s tasks:
1. Exploring the range of marks that can made with tools and materials
2. Free markmaking and layering (for this I used Brusho, Anilinky watercolour dyes, Winsor and Newton drawing inks, wax crayons, Inktense pencils and a dip pen).
