This looks like somewhere I wanted to head with my pen earlier today but went off in a different direction and am thinking “I wish I did that!” LOL! Love

May I ask how you went about doing this – I really like the abstraction, the marks and the simple tones.

I first began this series last summer and it originated from making collages with ripped and cut bits of old prints and rubbings and then drawing these. I used only a black pen and the later a set of different grey Tombow pens to keep the tones and marks simple. Since doing that I’m still drawing upon that mark making in these drawings – although I’m worried they might be too formulaic now. Here’s a blog post with some discussions images https://sketchbookcircle14.wordpress.com/2015/01/08/final-pages-of-my-sketchbook-with-karen-december-2014/
Thanks for taking and interest in this – I enjoy exploring this more abstract and imaginative drawing and it’s really quite new to me.

Ooh thank you for sharing. I like it because it is suggestive of land marks from an aerial view. I will take a look at the blog link you’ve given.

Oh and I meant to say that I also sometimes put a drawing into a manipulation app such as Fragment or Rollworld and draw the results. That’s a good way of getting away from the ‘real’.
